Encore Seafoods and Quality Assurance: Our Top Ingredient.

At Encore Seafoods, we pride ourselves on our dedication to quality assurance and food safety. Our production facility in Nevada was designed and equipped specifically for seafood, meat and poultry entrée manufacturing.
 

In January 2017, Encore Seafoods sought and received the international Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 2 Certification for its manufacturing plant in Sparks, Nevada.

The SQF Level 2 designation is an internationally recognized designation signifying that Encore’s food safety and quality management system complies with or exceeds international and domestic food safety regulations. The program is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative.

 

During the SQF certification process, the Encore Seafoods plant, its personnel and all of its practices – from safety plans and operating plans to sanitation and storage – were reviewed and evaluated by professionals from Silliker, Inc., on behalf of the global SQF Institute.

SQF certification is a voluntary international program; food manufacturers, buyers and retailers around the globe know that SQF certification marks those who earn it as food safety and quality leaders.

 

In addition to the SQF Level 2 certification, Encore Seafoods’ plant also received a Grant of Inspection from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in January, 2017. Encore holds a USDA Grant of Inspection as a manufacturer of Red Meat & Poultry Items.

Because we process seafood, the Encore plant also falls under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.  

As with all U.S. seafood manufacturers, Encore is also subject to random, unannounced inspections by FDA inspectors.

 

At Encore, we are proud of our facility, our cleanliness and our food safety and standards training for all employees. Encore Quality Assurance Manager Hani Nushnush leads our continuous commitment to food safety and our stringent adherence to our HACCP plan (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point)  – as well as our efforts to continually fine-tune our plans and practices in light of the latest developments in food science.

All of our employees – from our President and our CEO on down though our manufacturing line production workers – understand and share Encore’s devotion to superior food safety practices.
